Am I the only one that feels at least a little vindicated that Toyota is having their recall issues?

I’m not going to Toyota bash per se; I actually own a 1993 Corolla.  It’s just that Toyota, and many of its owners of the last seven years or so, love to tell you how much better their cars are than any other car ever conceived.   Is there UFO technology in the Camry I was unaware of?

Much like people and their cell phone plans, there’s always those people that love to tell you how their cell phone company is untouchable.  No matter who the carrier is, there is always a laundry list of reasons why your carrier is inferior.  They’ll go as far to ask how much you pay per month to further illustrate how you are being raped by your cellular provider.  Again, very similar to how Toyota owners will ask about your miles per gallon.  If your Cobalt gets 35 mpg, their Corolla gets 40 mpg.

Ultimately, Toyota brought this on themselves, which is why I really don’t feel that guilty receiving a measure of pleasure in regards to the their fall from mythic heights.  Slow reponse to issues, increased recalls, and insufficient plans to rectify the situation have stung the very followers that have helped stitch the fabric of what Toyota’s legend is fashioned.
