Peace Prize? Really?
Obama was able to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize. Â Amazing having an honor bestowed upon you when you have not accomplished the objective which is to be rewarded. Â Obama has not brought peace to the Middle East, as he deploys more troops. Â There is unrest in the streets of the United States as poverty, starvation and desperation set in. Â So why exactly did he receive the Nobel Peace Prize?
I’m not saying Obama’s a bad guy, or he won’t ultimately make the world a more secure place.  However, he has yet to do this.  It is much like declaring the winner of the Super Bowl in the first week of December to the team who has the best record.  Just because they were doing well and had substantial fan support, it doesn’t guarantee a victory in the big game, as history has shown.  Don’t give away the Championship ring before the game has even begun.
Obama is the President, and, to some people, an inspiration, an irritation, a hero or a sex symbol.  I was in the home of someone just last week who has an entire curio cabinet of Obama memorabilia right in the front foyer.  Whatever he is to you, at the end of the day, Obama is just an employee of the United States hired to lead this nation and must prove himself over time just as you and I have to do everyday.
I personally have never been so fortunate to start a new job and after a month get a raise, a bonus, corner window office, and a company car  just because I crushed my first month.  I have 11 more months after that before making substantial career advances and receiving formal recognition for my contribution to the company.  As an employee, Obama needs to be held to the same standard.
I hope at the next train station in 2012 the world is a safer and more serene place. Â Nevertheless, the passing of time will be the judge and commentators, like myself, will be the jury.

Wasn’t it all about change? Haven’t seen much of that. It was a great accomplishment to become the 1st black president of the country in which had seperate but equal facilities less tha 50 years ago, but what will be said in the history books when no changes are made? At the same time will peace ever be? I fear not….
